written by his father Joe Helgerson Thank you all for coming to celebrate the life of Michael. A son, a brother and a friend to all of us. Michael began his life on June 11, 1993. He instantly became a great joy in our lives. At a young age Mike enjoyed a variety of sports, softball, football, karate and tagging around with his big brother and sister. He developed several personal friends to which he enjoyed hanging out with. He loved his family, embracing family activities with his immediate and extended family. He enjoyed arts and crafts and was quite an artist. He would share his drawings with us all that were quite impressive. He was spiritual in nature and believed in that which is far greater than us. I admired him so. As Mike grew into adulthood, he developed symptoms of an illness that I could not understand. There were good days and bad days that tested us all. Mike fought a hard fight through the years, seeking peace in his mind and normalcy in his life. Mike was very strong at this fight keeping it up for more than a decade. On October 2, 2022 the burden became to much. Seeking peace for his mind and rest for his soul Michael ended his life. This was and is the saddest day of my life. I am still not sure how to reconcile. Through all the joy and all the heart ache Mike has been a part of my life that I hold dear to my heart down deep to my soul. Michael, I loved you with all of my being, although I did not have the capacity to show it. I pray you have found that peace for your mind and the rest for your soul that you sought and deserve. Rest in peace my son. I pray we may meet again. I LOVE YOU! !!!!!!!!!!! written by his mother Michelle Helgerson (Hill) Son I am privileged to have been the one picked to be your mother. You have taught me so much about life. Michael loved arts, music and was very spiritual. I will love you forever and treasure the time I had with you on this earth. Until we meet again rest in peace my baby boy. Mom loves you to the moon and back a zillion times. written by his grandmother Janice Neal (Smith) To all Michael's Family and Friends My name is Janice Neal and my husband is Jim Smith we are Michael's Grandparents. Michael was a part of my life since the day he was born and my husband, Jim Knew Michael for 7 years and loved him dearly as his own. I have so many found memories of Michael. He loved shopping with Grandma, his brother, sister and Alana. Boy did we shop and had so much fun. Michael loved baseball. I took him to see the Mariners in Seattle he got to personally meet "Bones" Jay Buhner and "Bones signed his poster. I loved Michael's big smile especially when he was excited. I had the privilege to take Taekwondo with four of my grandchildren. I took them to Junior Olympics in Texas and I was so proud of them all. Michael was so proud of his medal. He always looked up to his brother and sister and worked hard along side of them. Michael was very meticulous with clothes and his hair. Michael would only allow me to take him to get haircuts. I remember when Michaels hair was down to almost the middle of his back he wanted short hair. I took him, closed my eyes and prayed for the best. It was perfect. He was such a handsome young man. The most precious moment is when I held Michaels hand and he gave his heart to the Lord on August 18. 2013. He told me he wanted to be Baptized. Not soon after our pastor was having a Baptismal right here in the Boise River. When we got to the river Michael said "Grandma I can not do this alone will you get baptized with me" and I did. These are moments in time that are engraved within my heart forever. Michael was an Artist from painting, sewing hats, to making native jewelry. Michael had a spiritual side to him prayer, reading his Bible and he loved music. Michael you were so special to Grandma, your family and friends R.I.P. Until we meet again GMA Loves you!
